How to submit information to EDIOS

The EDIOS directory is maintained and open for entries from all institutes in Europe. Submissions are managed by a pan-European network of national focal points, for which EuroGOOS has established cooperation with the SeaSearch network of national oceanographic data centres and focal points in Europe.

A standard Metadata Input Form (MIF) has been defined and established for describing EDIOS entries. This form is available here, and can be used for submitting new information to EDIOS. Further information can be found in the accompanying document.

However, standard procedures are now being developed for updating and expanding EDIOS. This will include Access databases distributed to national focal points and an XML-based scheme. Contact BODC for further details (edios@bodc.ac.uk).
